about

I am a freelance writer, editor and communications consultant based in London, UK. I specialise in economics, policy and international affairs, and in how best to communicate and amplify research findings. I also regularly write about UK public data.

I hold a visiting fellowship at the London School of Economics (LSE) within the School of Public Policy, and am Managing Editor of La Fonte an online blog I co-founded to promote the latest research from economists based at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy.

I am available for freelance work, including writing, copy-editing and research communication consultancy. I also occasionally write about music, film and other bits and pieces.

Please see details below to get in touch. You can also follow my work via my Substack.

“When I’m asked by an economic or social research organisation if I know someone who could help them have more impact on the wider world, I invariably suggest they talk to Charlie Meyrick. Having worked with him on a number of projects, I know how good he is at translating the research evidence and analytical insights of social science into content that is accessible to policy-makers and the public. He is an accomplished writer, an attentive editor and always great to work with."
